The Bicyclist should be held ACCOUNTABLE!

I bet he was going a lot faster than 25 mph (going downhill).

I was almost hit by a bicyclist on Moody Road - SHAME ON YOU FOR NOT OBEYING TRAFFIC LAWS.

Which traffic law was the cyclist not obeying? I can't find any indication in this article that the cyclist was violating the law. It looks to me like a freak accident, or, if anything, a result of auto-centric design that doesn't take the needs of pedestrians or bicyclists into account.

Although this sounds like a tragic accident, the pedestrian was crossing at an unprotected area, and there is no indication of the cyclist exceeding the speed limit or running any stop signs/lights.

I think we can all use this as a caution that on twisty roads with limited sight distances, especially going downhill, we should maintain our speeds in such a way that any unexpected hazards that suddenly appear can be either avoided or maintain the ability to stop before collision. This caution is true regardless of the vehicle being used, be it car or motorcycle or bicycle.

"Green stepped in front of a male bicyclist who was heading eastbound on Page Mill Road at about 25 mph"
