Council commits $500K toward future hotel project

The Mountain View City Council on Tuesday signed off on early plans to lease out two downtown parking lots for future development into a high-end hotel. As part of the package, the city approved spending $525,000 to fund early engineering studies and a marketing campaign to attract developers.

Lenny Siegel is making a big mistake. He was put there on the board to represent, among other things, people who live in the area where he does. And anyway, everyone goes to Mountain View downtown. There is no one it will not affect.

This is going to bring lots of traffic, noise, congestion and frustration. Why do we want to inflict it on ourselves? And spend money to do so as well?
