Though "McFarland, USA" tells an inspiring true story of underdog triumph, audiences of all ethnicities deserve far better than the easy racial stereotypes the film trades in.

McFarland USA is heartwarming, and will hold special meaning to anyone who was living in the Central Valley or Palo Alto in the 80's.

BTW Anyone who wants to see McFarland USA in Spanish, can do so with the myLINGO mobile app. Disney and myLINGO are working together to let Spanish speakers enjoy the film in Spanish at no extra cost, through the free app, their smartphones and headphones. Go to www.myLINGOapp.com to learn more and download the app. Enter promo code GoMcFarland for the free Spanish audio. Bring headphones to the theater.

I have to agree that these white savior movies are really offensive. This is not the first movie of this genre (not even the first for Kevin Costner). There have to be 100s of similar stories where a non-white coach leads his team to glory. Why aren't any of those stories worthy of Disney treatment?

I'm totally offended by Stand and Deliver and Lean on Me. There must be hundreds of stories where white school officials help students.

I'm totally offended by all of the positive portrayals of Spartans in the movies. After all, they're weren't all brave and noble...
