Here's a radical idea. Take some of the bajillions of dollars spent on prisons and prison guards and locking people up, and put some of that towards more schools, smaller schools, smaller class sizes, longer school day, more job training, more recreation and educational opportunities for kids, research-based drug prevention programs, effective drug treatment programs, expanded mental health services for all who need it, and see what happens?!
