The Freedom Train is 54 miles one-way, not round trip!

Loads of money for Bullet train that we will pay for for the next 20+years. Raises for the few on top. But nothing can be done to keep one of the most important events (Only 1 day a year) continuing? I've yet to read any past articles on what can be done to help keep this day to continue?

The article does say the event is coordinated by the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Association of Santa Clara Valley. If you would like to help sponsor similar events in the future, the association can be contacted at scvmlk.org

Would have been nice if the article mentioned WHY it is the last one.

The Mercury-News says the event is being discontinued because of lack of sponsorship.

P.S. This is not a regularly scheduled Caltrain train. The train was chartered by the Martin Luther King Association who sold special tickets, which were subsidized by private donors. Donations have been decreasing in recent years, though perhaps renewed interest in Dr. King and civil rights in general may bring in enough sponsorship to bring the event back to life.
