Remember these eloquent and thoughtful letters, as this BRT issue unfolds.
Remember them as you read Town Square comments from unknown quarters that misrepresent both BRT and its critics, intoning the "it's just a few extra minutes for drivers" propaganda mantra while ignoring the real issues with dedicated-lane BRT that even VTA itself identified (spillover traffic and gridlock from removing lanes of El Camino)
Remember these letters when Margaret Abe-Koga again runs for office. I say "when," not "if," give Abe-Koga's demonstrated preoccupation with public office, any public office, which in 2014 went as far as raising funds simultaneously for two conflicting positions. (I'd be THRILLED to be proven wrong in that prediction.) Abe-Koga was strongly supported for Council by public-employee unions, and also got "dark money" support from unions in her latest election bid. Abe-Koga also authored the 2013 Voice guest Opinion with a disingenuous tone of open-minded objectivity, thoroughly evading BRT's main issue for most residents: gridlock and neighborhood-street chaos from El-Camino lane reduction: Web Link .
