Simitian recommends exploration of police body cameras

Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian on Dec. 12 recommended the county explore the feasibility of having sheriff's deputies wear body cameras to protect the public frpm officer misconduct and officers from unfounded allegations.

Instead of making this about a personal dislike for a politician, why don't you raise the bar and discus why you oppose the use of body cameras?

As someone active in law enforcement I feel they will be exceptionally useful tools whenever the truth is muddy. Not 100%, but a fantastic tool to replay what really happened when the truth is muddy.
Why is it you oppose them? Is it purely budgetary? Anti-cop? I'm waiting for you to wow us all, not just snipe about some politician...that kind of post is simply a msg board cliche. You can do better!
