A few clogged drains cause a few inches of water and it's suddenly a "major flood"? Oh puhleeze. The media are brainwashing everyone. Well, anything for ratings, page hits, whatever, I suppose, but let's get a grip, can we?

Yeah, the media should have said nothing to prepare us and if we got hit much harder than we did (weather is not 100% predictable), I guess you could then apologize to the widows and brokenhearted parents who lost someone. Or would you then go silent until the next time you want to complain about something?

Yah, and that dumb media let us know where the flooded streets were so we could avoid them all day long. They also gave me the forewarning that allowed me to take my hanging plants down and move some things inside so the wind wouldn't blow them down and break them. Darn media, why did they do this to us to get rating??? The information is the same whether those who hear it panic or do not. Brainwashing...that's when you can make someone believe something that is not true...like when someone tries to tell everyone that the media is brainwashing people. BRAINWASHING?! Hahaha. Now THAT sounds more like a frenzied panic response to the stories than does people using info and prepping for the first storm in a while. There was no panic, just some common sense preparations needed in the yard, and I was all out of flashlight batteries so I picked up some on my way home Tues night. I was glad the media brainwashed me into doing that prep, esp when our power went out.

I was happy that the media played this up so much that I only had to deal with 1/4 of the cars I normally deal with on the commute home.

It was a slow, careful drive, but very stress-free.

First off I want to thank the city for their diligence yesterday with keeping the residential streets cleared of debris to help with storm drains and flooding. That said, I never saw the mailman or received a delivery nor have I seen them today. Has mail service been suspended? Did anyone else receive their mail delivery yesterday or today?
