Just as I (and many others) expected -- once again, Merlone Geier is taking hostages to get what they want.
Why exactly did the city council approve this boondoggle in the first place?

By how much will prices be going up to rent the new parking spaces? Milk Pail is already a touch more expensive than the competition in SV and LA.

MG is like a childhood bully, "I'll share my toys but only if we play by MY rules"
No parent would tolerate those kinds of immature threats and neither should council.
If MG had a brain, and a heart, they'd realize that sharing a few meager parking spots with the little guy would improve public opinion of them by leaps and bounds. But no, this big bully wants to have everything their way.
Disgusting. MG go back to La Jolla and build your pretentious "village" somewhere else.

The Milk Pail is a very clever distraction.
A nice carrot dangled in front of the city
council and unsuspecting residents of MV ---
to get support for out-of-proportion,
traffic-mess-creating Phase II San Antonio Center.
The elephant in the room is the congested
elephant-speed traffic on San Antonio Road.
The real problem regarding San Antonio Phase II
is the massive plan for constructing high-density
offices, hotel, cinema, parking garage for 2000 cars, etc.
If you use San Antonio Road on a regular basis,
you know that it is already CONGESTED especially from
El Camino intersection going North towards 101.
Citizens of MV appear to be concerned with Milk Pail
and ignoring the massive phase II construction that
will cause miserable traffic congestion.
Once you have unbearable traffic, a town is no longer
desirable. Parts of MV are there already.

I would strongly suggest that any parking in that corner would be shared parking, not just for one particular business. The idea that parking for one errand, then reparking for a second errand in an adjacent location is unrealistic.

Just because you own something doesn't mean yo get to do whatever you want, regardless to the impact. If you feel you should be able to do ANYTHING you want with what you own is selfish, misguided and irrational.
If you neighbor wanted to build a 4 story house peering into your back yard and blocking your views, you would be the first to run to the government agency involved with stopping it.
