More on the paddling's rush.

Merlone Geier's Phase II proposal seems set for approval on December 2 and December 9.

"rush"

Approval has been delayed ...and delayed.

So to some "rush" means "I didn't get what I wanted."

Cousin to those who screech about "democracy" when they really mean "everyone should vote and think the way I do"

I wonder if anyone else feels this way about the recent parking restrictions during the game days in Santa Clara? As a resident of Mountain View for over 35 years, I was appalled by the fact that when I went to mail a letter at the post office, I tried to enter the parking lot and was told that I had to pay $10 just to park because it was game day. I didn't, of course and had to come back another time. Yesterday, when I went downtown to eat lunch, I noticed that there were signs on nearby streets restricting parking to 1 hour on game days. It makes me angry that as a resident, I can no longer park downtown without restrictions. I guess I won't be going out to eat on game days...1 hour is not long enough to eat or even shop downtown...maybe the city council could issue special parking stickers to residents so that the local businesses won't suffer. I, for one, will eat and shop elsewhere if I need to. By the way, I am not a sports fan and do not plan to go to any games in Santa Clara...
