Pet doors: the ins and outs

At her owner's request for a demonstration, the energetic pup bounded through the little built-in rectangle escape. She circled the backyard and reappeared at the side door where she barked to get back inside

The doors that are magnetic don't require any special training for cats or dogs to use them. Yes, they do need to be within a certain vicinity, but if they're trying to enter or exit they'd be in the vicinity. Our cat had no issues "learning" to use her door when we switched from a regular one to a magnetic one. The reason we switched was, yep, you guessed it, little masked visitors. They were cute until they started to poop in our home and would make a mess in the cat's water bowl! We would find evidence of their kitchen escapades almost daily and switched to a different cat door. The raccoons had the nerve to knock on the door for several weeks after!

Thank you so much for sharing more about these pet doors and how they work! I have been wanting to get pet doors for my home, since it can sometimes get a bit annoying to have to let the cats and dog out any time that they want to go outside. If we were to have a nice pet door, I am sure that would be really helpful. I especially like that this pet door that you talk about here keeps the cold out, since that has been one of my main concerns. I will be sure to be on the lookout for other animals, just in case they try to come in. Thanks for the great post! Web Link
