For accuracy, your headline should have read Logan, Peruri, and Swan win in LASD election. Also, you should have included a line or two about Peruri's shady background in NY. Disappointed at your reporting.

Actually, mb, the results aren't final yet. There are still hundreds of mail-in-votes that haven't been counted yet. Because of that, it's not clear who will win the third seat. If you mailed in a ballot, you can check to see if your ballot has been counted yet at this website: Web Link My ballot hasn't been counted yet, and I know of dozens of people in the same situation.

In response to the comment by "a resident of Cuesta Park" you seem to know about the "Shady Background" of the candidate. Do you have any proof or just slandering for some personal reason?

Santa Clara County is a joke. How is it possible, in the year 2014, that it takes two weeks to count all of the ballots? And this was an election with record low voter turnout!

Newest results have Tammy, Sangeeth, and Vladimir. Vladimir has over a 500 point edge over John Swan with Martha in a distant last. Measure N as over 57%. Congratulations.

It now looks like Logan, Peruri, and Ivanovic are going to prevail, and that Measure N is also likely to pass. I'm confident that these three will serve the LASD community well, and will be good stewards of the bond funds they (and the rest of the board) have been entrusted with. With neither BCS candidate winning a board seat, I hope there is some soul searching in the BCS community and a realization that the past behavior of their leadership has created a toxic brand for the charter school with a large percentage of the voting population. With a 5 year cease-fire in place, if Swan and McClatchie were sincere about their desire to "heal" and "unite" they should work with the BCS leadership to help mend fences and build bridges between the charter school and the district. Maybe then the peace can become permanent.

Oh, and in case there was any doubt about the attempt by outside forces to influence this election, take a look at the information posted here (Web Link Over $100K spent in attempts by BCS & Charter backers trying to buy a seat on the LASD board. Thank goodness our community is, by and large, far too informed and intelligent to fall for that.
