Actually, the bus I was referring to was Route 32: Web Link

Route 32 comes in from Sunnyvale on Middlefield Road, and travels down Middlefield to San Antonio, where it takes a left and goes to the San Antonio transit center and shopping center.

The approved loop follows a similar route, but goes down Rengstorff instead of San Antonio. As an aside, going down Rengstorff means getting stuck at the train tracks.

I hope that the City and Google work together on some way to accurately record where each rider gets on and gets off the bus. There must be a clever way to anonymously collect such information, since that's the information you need to determine which routes are being ridden, not just where people get on, and where people get off.

Does this service have a website yet? Where can we find the schedule and stops, other than the not-quite-final image posted with this article?

I don't think there's a website yet. After all, they just finalized the program on Tuesday and the service doesn't start until January. I would think in late November/early December that more resources will be available to the public.

Is it a coincidence or is the Voice now going out of its way to ignore my campaign? It says that 3 residents spoke, but then ignores the fact that I was one of them. As a matter of fact, I was the only Council Candidate to speak on this subject. At this point I really have to wonder if the Voice's candidate of choice had spoken if he would have gotten dissed also. I feel like the main character if Ralph Emerson's "Invisible Man".

For anyone that has not read that book, it's not Sci-Fi as you may be thinking, and I recommend you check it out.

Unclear if this is going to help people that need to travel from Middlefield/Whisman to Sylvan/PAMF. It is only a two miles distance, but as far as I know VTA does not have a route from down Sylvan to Whisman to Middlefield (?).

Seems pointless to stop at Costco, average order size would require a car to get home.

What an incredible bunch of ungrateful self centered people. I would like to say Thank you to Google, knowing full well that some details will undoubtedly need to be worked out. I would also like to thank the whiney council candidate who is so worried about getting press. Now I know who not to vote for.

The route map shows stops at Middlefield/Whisman & El Camino/Sylvan, with stops at Whisman Station and Sylvan Park along the route.

There is no stop at Costco for the proposed one-loop route. In any case, there are other stores at Costco and the stop would have also benefitted workers in that area, not just shoppers.

According to the article, the shuttle bus route and schedule may be reconsidered after the first thirty days of operation.

Suggest to add a stop at Moffett Blvd / Jackson St (north of MV caltrain station) to the single loop, between Middlefield/Moffett stop and Middlefield/Shoreline stop.
This way we can keep the single loop, and everyone get to the downtown easier.

AWESOME!!!!! Thank you Google and also to the planners of this route! One question (maybe already answered) will riders sit at the "regular" bus stops when waiting for these new shuttles?

That makes no sense. You still need to ride the shuttle bus around half the loop anyhow (maybe 15-20 minutes) to get to the MV transit center.

You'd be better off taking VTA Bus 51 which services Moffett Boulevard and Castro Street. Or walk the 800 feet in two minutes.

Moffett Blvd / Jackson St stop can cut half time to the downtown/caltrain for most of riders from north of central expressway.

Look at the proposed route map.

Itshows the loop going all the way to San Antonio Center before heading back to downtown. The opposite direction goes to PAMF (El Camino Real/Sylvan).

If you are at the corner of Jackson Street and Moffett Boulevard, just walk two minutes.

If they set up a Moffett/Jackson stop, it will continue along Middlefield west (or east) and loop around.

The only way a Moffett/Jackson stop works is if there are two loops that share Moffett/Castro, but the council did not green light this.

Let's face it. If a rider that can get to Moffett and Jackson can easily get to Middlefield and Moffett (along the shuttle bus route). The point is that Jackson & Moffett are about a city block away from downtown MV.

Just get on the VTA bus if you can't walk the 800 feet.

Per Even's suggestion, North Shoreline and North Whisman riders may take theshuttle straight to Moffett Blvd / Jackson St stop, then walk 800 feet to MV downtown or transit center. The modified single loop get most of double loop benefits.

I'm happy this is being added, we will try to use it. It's true the two loop scenario would be lot more useful, meaning I would probably use it more. I wonder if they could change to the two loop scenario later. I do understand the frequency of service issue, but I don't think the 2 loop map is confusing.

I would love an interloop or two loop option. We rode public transit regularly until we moved out here to the North Whisman area where the transit options are not close and not direct. When I ride transit, I'm usually with my kids, so the amount of walking that is practical is less than it would be for adults traveling alone. Also, we're usually trying to get to the far side of downtown (the library or Eagle park), which for little legs is quite a ways from the train station, and overwhelming from Middlefield and Moffett. I look forward to future changes in the route that will make getting downtown easier. I must say, I'm very excited about the weekend hours! .

It seems city and google together can come up with an online bus route information with capability to allow users to select start and destinations to generate useful data. This can be a much faster way to gather data rather than taking actual riderships.

I'm a liberal and I think this is a great idea. I also want lower taxes and fiscally responsible gov't in all areas, including the defense dept.
TG, I think Fox news may be not giving you the correct information about who to lump into one group and summarily dismiss without thought.

What a novel idea. Have a bus system in a growing city. Can we have one drive down El Camino real and call it 22 too. When will the buses to SF be implemented?
