Original post made on Sep 17, 2014

When council candidate Ken Rosenberg confronted a man destroying a fellow candidate's campaign sign last week, he didn't expect what happened next.

Ken stopped by my home last week to introduce himself as a candidate for City Council. He provided me with some literature outlining his views on specific issues. I later emailed his website with some follow-on questions and was pleased to get an email back directly from Ken with his answers and an offer to discuss things further. Impressive. Not surprised by his actions noted in this article to support the democratic process. Not sure who to vote for yet but I like what I'm seeing in the candidates.

Thank you Ken for supporting the Democratic process.

If you change your stance on more housing in NB, I will definitely vote for you.

To Probably A: Can't you wait to get full information before passing judgement. That's not the democratic process.

To the Voice: I think Probably A's comment is objectionable.

Considering the way that election campaigns have brought out the worst in people around here, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Disgusted, but not surprised.

@Beth: The troll above is a hopeless case. He apparently is programmed to say "Deport them!" no matter the topic at hand.

Ken Rosenberg always struck me as a decent fellow, and this confirms it. He is willing to listen to all sides before making a decision. That's exactly what is needed in City Council.

So, this is an article telling crazy John Torres who he can hold a Cape Fear-esque vendetta against when he's released?

I would also like to applaud Ken's actions. Although we disagree on some issues, I have found Ken to be approachable and friendly. It would be nice if I could clone him to protect my signs. I've had almost half of them stolen so far. It's too bad that some people don't believe in free speech and an open Democratic process.

The article at the Merc has much more detail on the event. That guy was a wacko! Read it:

Good for Ken for defending someone else's sign. Having said that, I can't wait for the election to be over. I don't like the signs around town!

Jim Neal, the sign posted at the Annex was removed by the City, it was in the wrong place

Hi Chris,

Thanks for trying to help, but I'm afraid you were given bad information on this. The city did not remove my banner, I asked my team to relocate it when I found that it had been installed in the wrong location. It is my yard signs that have been taken out of my neighbor's yards and from businesses along Castro St. I hope that you'll continue to follow my campaign! If you haven't already done so, you can check out my website and find out where I'll be making appearances in the Events section. I hope that you will come to one of them and introduce yourself. You can also get a sign of your own on the site by clicking the "Request a Yard Sign" button on the main page. Thanks again!

The corner of April Ln and Grant Rd has been vandalized numerous times over the last 4 weeks. A sign was actually thrown over the adjacent property fence, too. It is unlawful to touch these signs, since they are on a city approved piece of land.

Well, Whatever his politics, and I have to look into that, this fellow Rosenberg is definitely a class act. I mean protecting the campaign signs of a competitor in a political race... what a concept?!
Bless his heart and I will see if he's one of the ones I can vote for, f'sure. I certainly will remember his name when I hit the voting booth.

Imagine if Rosenberg's behaviors were a norm in DC...:)) What a government we'd have. If only the "Me! Me! Only Me!" mania were a thing of the past.

As for the people who are damaging signs around this city... You don't deserve to live in a democracy. Go away.
