'"It would be wrong to subject local residents to any disruption in their care as we conclude negotiations," Anthem Blue Cross President Mark Morgan said in a statement released Monday.'
And yet,
'Darrel Ng, a spokesman for Anthem Blue Cross, disputed the claim that its patients would continue be able to pay as if they were in-network.'
So, Anthem says it "would be wrong" to disrupt patient coverage, while Anthem also says that Anthem will NOT continue existing patient coverage, i.e., will be "wrong."

Interesting dispute.
You can see some information about provider charges and insurer payments in California in this database over at KQED, which has launched a project to create a crowdsourced and journalist-curated database of health prices together with KPCC public radio in Los Angeles, and our health-transparency startup, clearhealthcosts.com. This new project is funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

I have Anthem Blue Cross insurance, and over the last 6 months, almost all my physicians have stopped accepting Anthem BC, because it pays doctors much less than all the other insurance companies. It is very difficult for me, as a patient, to have to keep finding new providers (doctors). Physicians have no Union, so unless a doctor works at a large institution, such Stanford Health Care, they have no one to negotiate on their behalf for fair compensation, so they just drop out, leaving patients like me in a lurch.
