Caltrain to buy new cars to ease commute crowding

Caltrain officials announced Thursday plans to purchase 16 surplus Metrolink rail cars that will be used to extend train sets and provide more capacity for peak-hour trains.

"New" is a stretch to describe surplus cars that will need a year for refurb. Perhaps the writer means "more" cars?

Seem the editor must be taking a holiday. I think CAL Train to buy additional cars, then explain the cars are to be refurbish in the article is correct. But I am no editor.

Most people car pool rather than take the train...car pooling is twice the national average in Mountain View..

Its only a little over 1% who even take the train.
