NASA Ames to open campus to public

As it celebrates its 75th year, NASA Ames Research Center is holding a rare open house event on Saturday, Oct. 18, allowing a close look at the space research center's many technological wonders.

Good catch Ken S. Shame on NASA for not having nasa.gov work without the www prefix, how 90s of them.

This sounds like a great event, just got my tickets. Thanks NASA Ames!

Please note that the actual 747 SOFIA aircraft will NOT be on display at the NASA-Ames open house, only some infrared astronomy related exhibits. Ames manages the science & mission operations for SOFIA, but the aircraft is not based at Moffett Field. It is currently undergoing heavy maintenance in Germany and is not available for display.

Ken and Greg, the link; nasa.gov/ames/openhouse2014 does work. I tried it and it loaded on my Firefox browser. The prefix "www" is a default and doesn't need to be typed. The browser automatically directs you to the full url.

Update: As of Friday, Sept. 5, all 120,000 free tickets to next month's NASA Ames Open House are gone, but don't give up yet. There are still a few ways you might make it in to the big event:
