Council shifts gears on San Antonio plan

After sharp public opposition delayed phase two of Merlone Geier's Village at San Antonio Center project last week, City Council members showed signs on Tuesday of making housing a higher priority in the San Antonio shopping center area.

Small step in the right direction. No one is complaining about retail development - it is all this office space!

Retail mostly serves MV residents. Office space instead brings in lots more people to the area, with more traffic, and increases demand for and price of housing.

Much better to focus on FIRST on housing, then on retail, and freeze all office space development for any large companies. Offices for small biz / local professionals is ok. Office space for Google, LinkedIn, etc - NO WAY!
