This incident is occurring literally a short walk away from where I live. Given the level of police activity I saw this afternoon, I thought it was something serious -- but this is on a totally different level altogether.
Hoping that this situation can be resolved without violence on anyone's part.

The man was reported to be depressed and they send out Swat? This story stinks to high heaven. When does it require Swat for depression? If someone goes to the Doctors and says they are stressed because of work, does this mean Swat will be kicking in your door?

I can read just fine. Last time I checked it's not illegal to have a gun in your home. It's not illegal to carry a gun in your home. If the man broke no laws and he doesn't want to talk with the police, it's his right.

This man will not be allowed to own guns after this incident. Just like people lose their license when they drive recklessly. Innocent until proven guilty. Y
You can't make guns illegal because some people might use them for their unintended purpose. Just like you can't make cars illegal because someone might crash and die.
If a bus crashes and 20 people die. Is that not similar to a mass shooting? Lets make buses illegal because buses are "high capacity"

UC Davis grad is apparently unaware that stories update. Even when they say "Check back for more details as they become available."
Guess he can't read either.

Another reason all citizens should be armed.

Despite (in another article's comments) a reader saying "there hasn't been ammunition at walmart for months" ...there has been LOTS of ammo at Walmart for months.
You know, if people really were concerned about guns, they could go buy up all the ammo at Walmart and just turn it in to the police. That way the morally inferior and just plain "bad" people wouldn't be able to get their hands on it.

That is a rough block, as I recall from being a Census Taker in 2010.
