Mr Siegel makes a good point about hotels. People visiting me keep telling me it's almost impossible to find a hotel room. That forces corporations to rent apartments, so their visitors have somewhere to stay. Building new hotel rooms will ease the pressure on the apartment rental market.

Besides the hotel rooms, we also need new housing of course. Mixed development and walkable neighborhoods is the way to go, so not everyone has to use a car for everything.

Older motels and other overnight lodging will not be able to keep up with newer properties, remodel or redevelopment into housing will take place. New restaurants and meeting rooms plus college kids and teenagers could use jobs.

City could use to tax money, not just for pensions and wages but to strengthen the tax base.

You have to be ready for the next big downturn.

I agree with a hotel. I would like to the project include a connection to the Stevens Creek Trail.

With all the talk about the Jobs-Housing imbalance and the need for low income housing, the City should build low income housing - it's a no-brainer.
