I am a USAF vet. How do they know who the vets are? How will we be contacted to get the card? Some companies give military discounts so I hope they will accept the card rather than my DD214 copy.

This is great news! Vets should have a card! I own the Mtn. View General Store and we offer discounts to Veterans and active military.(thanks to Mountain View Veterans)
I can't imagine asking a Veteran to show me a piece of paper. It's seems insulting.

I see this as a solution in search of a problem, and opening the door to widespread fraud. My DD214 is one page, prepared by typewriter and then copied. The newer ones may be tamper resistant, but Vietnam era forms are easy to modify, so anyone can appear to be a veteran, even an illegal.

I forgot to include in my previous post that I am presuming that a veteran would need to present a DD214 to get this card.

Veterans deserve the utmost of benefits, but should they need more proof of identification for benefits and discounts than any of us need to vote? Why is their promise in the form of a signature not enough?
