Open space bond measure too close to call

Measure AA -- a $300 million bond measure for the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District -- was favored by voters Tuesday, but preliminary results are too close to call the two-thirds approval it needs to pass.

I hope this does not pass as currently structured. As a long time homeowner, I think the new comers to this area, those who pay the high rents, should pay their fare share of these community assets. Currently all they are doing is displacing the less fortunate renters, and stuffing the corporate apartment owners' pockets full of cash.

I don't think you were entirely informed about the measure. It wasn't a local MV measure in as much as it was a regional measure, spanning multiple counties. The renter's are paying though, they're just doing it through their property owners.
