How about building a new one on the site where they destroyed the old one? Makes too much sense i guess.

Why did they tear it down in the first place? Why is the armory kicking out these people? Could it be money and greed?

The article states that the armory was provided rent free for years by the National Guard. I assume this means a mix of federal and state funding via tax-payers, but I won't claim to know the particulars.

If that's the case, it seems reasonable to fund the site from the appropriate coffers, be that private, non-profit, or the correct tax-payer-funded budget. Hiding one project within another is not acceptable for public projects.

I see no greed involved here.

That being said, I do agree that if this location can be repurposed, there's no point in demolishing it. However, keep in mind that an armory is not ideally suited to living quarters, though it clearly beats open air.

The Armory was sold due to federal dollar cost savings to a developer of new homes. So every town must provide housing for the homeless in that town. How do you determine which town they live in?
