Thanks for the call. This is a known method for ID theft & check fraud If you have the phone out take a picture will help a lot too. PS the postal service will not allow movement of a mail box unless there is a problem with theft but by then it will be too late.

If you are renting, be aware that California housing code requires landlords to provide LOCKING mailboxes.
