In all this talk, no one even suggests improving traffic by reducing DEMAND for that commute?
Stop building so many offices in MV, and all the NEW plans for offices, which simply increase demand and use of commuters. The mix of office and housing in MV has gotten totally out of whack. 10-15 years ago this was a livable community. The population and housing has not changed that much, but the amount of offices/jobs has turned things into a mess.
More houses, fewer offices and fewer commuters!

So charging shuttles for using the bus station is a solution?
Shouldn't you be trying to accommodate more shuttles to solve traffic gridlock rather than expect them to go away? Do you think you would rather have all those train/shuttle commuters using their cars instead?
Wake up and get real. Get more shuttles including designated airport shuttles. Get rid of some of the parking spots if need be to attract more people to use shuttles. Put in parking meters for street parking and parking lots for anyone using them for more than an hour.
Instead of whining about shuttles, start upgrading public transit. You negated the idea of Pod Cars - foolish - but have no innovative alternatives.

It is probably far too late to address the density and traffic issues now. They are already here and only give MV a bad reputation and image. If they are bad or get worse, will young people want to stay and continue working or living here? If a major company decides its employees are better served with a new campus elsewhere, what happens to the dense housing, dense offices, and football field wide streets and offramps?

MV does not need to keep adding more & more offices and huge corporations with thousands of jobs. Enough is enough. It's just being greedy, hogging up all the employment opportunities. Let some go elsewhere, like Livermore, Tracy, Stockton, etc. Then folks out there could be removed from the massive commute into Silicon Valley every day.
Now adequately & comfortably house those employees who already work North of 101 so their walk or bike ride is easy and convenient. This will be safer for them, and a better use of their time than commuting. Not all of the employees of North of 101 want to live elsewhere, and even along noisy, stinky ECR isn't a very nice place to reside, plus there is still huge congestion getting from ECR to North of 101.
Build lots of housing right there North of 101, instead of along ECR and instead of adding ever more offices, etc. Just think: 17,000 new jobs being created by City Council decision North of 101, where there are already commuting snafus and zero plans for housing! If I worked at Google or any of the others there, that is where I'd want to live.

Where do Councilmembers get the corporate support to receive political appointments and run for higher and higber office like Leland Yee? Ask Councilmember Margaret Abe,-Koga.

My commute has actually become faster since I started biking down Shoreline. I'm happier too when I get there on most days. Never been one to look to others to solve my problems, but as I glide past the cars each morning its apparent there are problems that need fixing.

Good point, Pat. That's why they say yes to most everything, no matter how it over does our infrastructure, or ruins our quality of life and property values.

@Solved
Sorry, you're being way to proactive here. Try to frame the discussion in terms of what other people are doing wrong, rather than what you can do to better your situation.

Sorry Robert, your right, let me try again:
The commute would be fine if everyone else would just get the heck out of my way!
Yes, that sounds more at home in these forums. Thanks for the reminder. (haha)

Try pulling out of a drive way on Leong Drive - with all the Google buses whizzing by it's all for one out there. This is a residential area and it's being used as a shortcut by Goggle.
