I am so glad that the renovation is approved at last! The Park and Community Center are used very heavily and the facilities deserve to be upgraded. I live in the area and often take walks to watch the children, soccer games and I get to pet dogs!

Hmmm. Wonder where we'll find the extra funding for this. How 'bout Google? They sure do fund alot of projects around town.
Are they A) greasing city staff in return for favors? Or B) being extorted by city staff in return for concessions? Or C) just genuinely concerned for the well being of their host city? It must be 'C'. Isn't that the approach most large corporations take?

As a former competitive swimmer, why a 25 meter pool. What is needed to train swimmers and to attract in swim meets with related economic advantages (hotels, restaurants, shopping) you need a 50 meter pool. Rengstorff has the space for a 50 pool that can be either 25 yards or 25 meters in width but 25 yards is more useful for short course training and swim meets. I used to come down from Millbrae to the annual Dolphin Turkey relay meet around Thanksgiving every year. It was one of my favorite meets as it was an all relay event. Leter we also came down for a pentathalon swim meet. Both atracted swimmers from all over due to the types of meets.

Mtn. View does not have a 50 meter pool making it harder to attract serious swimmers.

With all the money pouring in at San Antonio, the City should play fair to all of us who live at this end of Millbrae and give us a decent pool that will serve the needs of all and help us get on the map like Santa Clara Swim Center did for Santa Clara.

One day the facilities will have to be placed, age and wear. Of course remodeling is good for the being. Recreational and space for groups is important, putting in a community lounge, with snack bar and a farmers market. Tables for chess, games and evening free movies. How about a ice rink. More people using the park, will help keep the busy.

Okay, but renovating Rengstorff Park comes at the expense of other areas without any parks. How is that fair?

This is not good news for the "Poor" (Compared to Google employees of course) folks living in that area. Little by little you can see Mt. view being transformed into Google Land. Money still talks and residents will soon walk. Progress is great but Google is looking more and more heartless. They began last year with their surrounding eatery businesses. The city sees $$$$$$$ and reacts first, then thinks.
