Only someone who does not live here and does not need to drive on El Camino could think that getting rid of 2 lanes would be a good idea.

El Camino is the only realistic road for half of MV residents who need to go north/south. We need to keep all the lanes

I read that article some weeks ago now- but I just can't shake the insincerity of the whole article and I'm sure the whole presentation. You don't create town squares....unless you are Walt Disney and I don't choose to live in Disneyland. I was in The Milk Pail today picking up some fresh food for dinner. Then I drove to Dittmers for some chicken. It sure felt like a town square to me. This other THING that is being proposed has nothing to do with our Mountain View Lives and everything to do with real estate development. Why are our representatives saying yes to this monster? (OK it can be an octopus if you like.) We don't need to be entertained at a fake town square. I'm sure that these developers with their bags of money and PR people will try very hard to sell their plan. But this is not our first rodeo. If we must "develop" : keep the businesses that make our community unique, consider that traffic on El Camino at rush hour(s) is almost at grid lock and don't kid yourself "affordable" and "housing" will never again exist anywhere on the peninsula.
