Yes, Mountain View is a city guided by four of the seven members.
Mike Kazpersak is joined by Chris Clark and John Inks to form the Uncontrollably Growth Coalition. If we elect one more member to their coalition, they will have uncontrollable power and it will be Katie bar the door.
From 1970 through 2010 Mountain View's population increase averaged 574 per year. The 2030 General Plan shows a similar planed increase of 593 per year. However, today, there are 1,800 new units going up along El Camino Real alone.
If we want responsible growth we need to finance, campaign for, and elect three candidates who support responsible growth.

Our votes count as long as we very carefully vet any one running, and then make sure to hold them to the promises they made when they ran! But there is actually no way to make anyone elected live up to what they promised. I figure lots of media coverage about what they said they stand for could bring an embarrassment factor into play when they sell out and let us down, but embarrassment doesn't matter much to real scoundrels who have made the big bucks for letting big building concerns do as they please for their really huge bucks which they can distribute as they please also...
I just want to be sure we don't redevelop El Camino Real as high density. Varying only one, two, and three stories suits me fine: Preserves the views & breezes, looks great (not a tunnel & more variety to spice it up), won't block the sunshine most of the day (especially on an East/West running arterial that will perpetually have the sidewalks in shadows), will add less traffic to the already crowded arterial, won't cram healthy people into living in an area that will destroy their health and their hearing (exhaust fumes & noise), et cetera! There are so many reasons ECR never should have been designated for any high density! Let's work together to reverse this plan! As the 801 ECR Project (that is going too high) will set the stature for the rest of ECR, sign the petition against it at:
