Medical innovator Fogarty faces 80 with optimism

Surgeon, vintner and inventor with 150 patents to his name, Dr. Thomas Fogarty founded the Fogarty Institute for Innovation in 2007 with the aim of cultivating and guiding the best and brightest health care innovators in the world. He turns 80 next week.

"Fogarty's main concern these days is bureaucracy and over-regulation... Today, the legal and regulatory hurdles that the companies in his incubator face are massive and wasteful, he said."

This holds true throughout our society thanks to elected know-nothings who pass endless regulations under the guise of popular euphemisms e.g. the environment, for the children, etc. rather than just say for their own self-serving agenda or for their union, etc..
