why are Mountain View sex crimes not reported here?

I noticed two recent press releases on the Mountain View Police web site about sex crimes in our city. One perp was arrested and another is still being sought by police (with artist sketch). Why was neither of these reported here? If the police thought these crimes were serious enough to issue press releases, shouldn't the media take them seriously as well?

Links to the Mountain View Police press releases. The first perp was arrested. The second one is still being sought by police.
