Scholarship to honor former Castro student

A scholarship fund is being created in memory of Garon Bolden, a former Mountain View resident who penned a popular pro-education rap song when he was just 10 years old. Bolden, 17, was killed last month when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in San Jose.

I am deeply sorry to her of this family's tragic loss! I remember him when he was a student at Castro, and later when he was a student at Mountain View High. His Mom, Renee was one of the founding members of the MVWSEPTA (now the LCC Committee of MVLA PTSA). He was a truly remarkable young man and we will always be grateful for having known him.
