DI program future at Castro? (highest Hispanic % resident area)

Original post made by Steven Nelson, Shoreline West, on Feb 3, 2014

@ Castro DI Parent - Old Mountain View, has brought up the issue of the future of the DI program at the neighborhood school where it was started - and has recently flourished. (of course that can also be debated)
What are the opinions of (Anglo) parents, actually in the DI program, or thinking of enrolling, or alumni? [because - believe me - not many Hispanic families read the Voice on-line in English!] [or don't believe me - SJMN says 52% of Hispanic families do not have regular Internet access]

Would the "DI @ Slater" program - mentioned in the Voice page 4 Jan 31st article be good? Why or why not? Any real data? What community need does this "choice program" fill (or miss)?
