Local boogie boarder dies in Santa Cruz

A Mountain View man died in Santa Cruz on Jan. 24, after getting caught in dangerous waters between rocks and the mainland.

I happened to be at that location when the attempted rescue was taking place. Gotta give those lifeguards credit for risking their own life's in such treacherous conditions.

Surfing is a dangerous sport and people who love doing it need to be aware of that consciously every time they are out there. They should definitely heed the warning if they love their life more than the sport/hobby of surfing. I feel sorry for the family who lost this young man. It is hard to lose someone at that age. RIP, Surfer Zenk. condolences to their family.
