Quest for fresh food boosts popularity of gardens

What could be more fun and educational for you and your children than growing your own food? It is an activity that more and more city residents are craving, but there is not enough space to accommodate everyone seeking one of the city's small plots.

As a former, longtime resident of Mountain View, I commend Judy Levy and other Master Gardeners and civic leaders who are promoting more garden spaces in Mountain View - once a city of orchards, green houses, and the famous Pumpkin Patch. We need green spaces amid the tech/cement build-out and urban sprawl. Gardens and the love of gardening are gifts to our children!
