Gov. Brown declares drought emergency

In declaring a drought emergency today, Gov. Jerry Brown ordered state officials to take all necessary actions to prepare for what is expected to be the driest year on record.

Well we put in a new lawn 3 years ago. And I was thinking instead that California would become a desert. I am right on that one. So all of us need to get rid of our lawns and instead plant drought resistant plants. That way we can all save money. And remember, like in the 1970's, 'shower together' goes the motto.

Meanwhile, the lawn sprinklers are still happily spraying the street on Sunset Ave in (well, technically, near) LA.

Isn't this usually when the state decides it's a great time to drain a couple of reservoirs for maintenance?
