I was just at the library and it works! I didn't believe they could fix it so quickly but everything worked great. Way faster than it was and no stupid log in screen!
Of course, they are the government, so let's see how it works a year from now.

It was shenanigans from Day One. Google installed two systems: One that worked and was for its employees; the other was the broken "public" version that never really worked and did not offer coverage in the city's lower income areas (perhaps because Googlers don't live there?). Basically, City Hall was snookered.

I left Google WiFi last year because it was so spotty and unreliable. I went for the pricey AT&T which seems to be good on all counts. The installation fee was ~$150 and went in the day following my application.
Does anyone know of the AT&T plan to yank out copper lines on the "last mile"to local residences and upgrade their system to 100% fiber connections? I heard about it once last summer, but nothing since....

It's embarrassing that the "latest in WiFi technology" can only reach the legacy Internet. I ran test-ipv6.com using cmvwifi in the library, and scored 0/10.

Oh look! A google employee embarrassed and defensive over their crappy broken promise to MV is slamming the MV Library for not supporting ipv6. Well, apparently 97% of the WORLD can only access this so-called "legacy Internet" according to Google's own statistics.
