Holiday Fund: Your chance to help those in need

Original post made on Nov 25, 2013

The economy of Silicon Valley is booming for many residents -- but not all of them. The ==I Voice== Holiday Fund is a way to leverage your donation to help hundreds of the less fortunate. With its foundation grants, the Holiday Fund can match, to the extent possible, donations to seven local nonprofit agencies that help the hungry and homeless, families in trouble or those needing health care.

I have donated money to this fund in the past but I stopped doing that because lot of the money don't really get used for the intended purpose and most of it goes as operating cost in buygin various things to run this program and people who operates these agencies treat the money like their own money and spend it on themselves. I have very little faith in anything this city does and it is all few people trying to look good by swindling money from good hearted noble souls in this city. Same goes for Palo Alto and other cities. [Editor's Note: Sorry but you are mistaken if you assume that any donated funds are used for administration of the Holiday Fund. As we said in the editorial, NO fees or other charges are deducted from ANY gifts to the Holiday Fund.]

Take another look at the article:
"No administrative costs or fees are deducted from the Holiday Fund gifts, so 100 percent of all donations will be shared equally by the nonprofits supported by the Fund."

Looks like seven important causes and seven worthy agencies to me. My donation is on its way!

By the way, if "plymouth" or anyone else has any specific data about where the money goes or doesn't go, I'm sure we'd all like to hear it.
