Palo Alto resident, 85, being held in North Korea

A Palo Alto man was removed from a plane and is being detained in North Korea, his traveling companion to the country has confirmed.

Hoping for a quick return home for Mr Newman, but hard to feel completely sympathetic. Those State Dept warnings aren't just for kicks. Hopefully others will learn from this.

N. Korea... Really? Of all the places he could have gone he chose to North Korea?
