A .23 caliber?
Really?

This is ridiculous. Mountain View needs tighter regulation on handgun ownership. I wonder how many people will die from this handgun simply to line the pockets of gun manufacturers and retailers?

What are the makes and models of the guns? Should we stake out local gun store looking for people buying compatible ammunition?

I agree! We need to pass laws to allow the authorities to enter and search local residence for firearms and confiscate them. Now another gun is out there killing. Guns kill, not people! Its not the thief's fault the owner had guns! Jail the owner, not the thief. The thief is the victim here!

@Moreregulation,
Exactly how does a gun manufacturer or retailer profit from the theft of a gun?
Do thieves pay royalties or something?
Do auto manufacturers have the same business plan?

Getting ammo for that .23 caliber is going to be tricky.

"taken out of a locked box"
Umm?
Maybe Nick meant an unlocked lock-box.

Flava Dave is a registered user.
If it is a .32 as the correction states...good luck getting ammo, assuming the gun even works anymore

Have the authorities go into homes and take legally owned guns from free citizens of the USA ? You must be a fan of Adolfo hitler ! That was what he did when he took power . And I gues whoever disagrees with your an will be put in labor camps too! The true victem is you and your thinking is a victem of the government education system

Obama's plan of total government rule is a just one. We as "free citizens" of the United States are just too stupid to govern ourselves. As soon as we allow the government and states to have total access and control over its citizens only then will the healing will begin.

Hey Old Coot..."Exactly how does a gun manufacturer or retailer profit from the theft of a gun?"
Uh, the guy that got his gun stolen...he will go out and buy another gun. And the guy who stole his gun will be buying ammo. Do you not see how this profits the gun industry?
The NRA gun lobbyists push against any regulations that will help increase community safety when it comes to guns.. Why? Because increased regulation will mean less guns and ammo sold, which translates to lower profits.

I agree with Moreregulation. This is the same reason that cell phone carriers are refusing to disable stolen iphones, despite requests from police chiefs and district attorneys. The thief is going to sign up for cell phone service with the stolen phone (or resell it someone who will) and the victim is going to buy another iphone, thus doubling the company's profits.
