Another example of the idiocy of the GOP generated sequestation approach to the GWB created deficit. A deficit which they've supported by abusing fillibuster tactics to block all subsequent viable solutions. Their Historical/Hysteria solutions of pennywise and dollar foolish after filling the pockets of their Banking and Wall St cronies are ruining this country.
Are we having fun yet?

Mary, is that satire? If so, excellent job! EVERYONE is to blame for this mess.

The thought I have when I read something like this is kind of tough.
With full recognition of the problems and challenges we face, and with all due respect to the interests of my fellow citizens, here is my only thought:
It saddens and worries me to cut back on services which save lives and protect people. I would gladly sacrifice other social programs in favour of something like this. Because "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" is in the Declaration of Independence. But quality of life is *our* responsibility as citizens and individuals. And in that view, I think it has more integrity to cut back on social services in favour of public safety.

Wow Mary. Way to be a well trained mouth piece for one side. So basically EVERYTHING is the GOP's fault and if only they would just agree to everything that the Democrats demand everything would just go perfectly. Just what color IS the sky in your world?
The current deficit is the fault of EVERYONE in the government. GWB is part of it, but wasting TRILLIONS on "stimulus" did NOTHING to help and seems to have prolonged the crisis. The current issues were seeded by the Clinton administration, exasperated by the Bush administration, and prolonged needlessly by the Obama administration (although more by Pelosi in the early years than Obama himself). We got sequestration because OBAMA PROPOSED IT, the GOP called his bluff, and NO ONE will negotiate in good faith. BOTH sides assumed the other side would get the blame and traded perceived votes for your suffering. In the end we all pay and NONE of them will ever be held accountable.

@Mary, you've been drinking too much water, buy bottled water.
Excellent Explanation Ron!
On the local state level, lets not forget all the money being spent on a HSR train to nowhere, and what if it derails, oh well, we'll have to spend more billions of the tax payers money. Or the billions they want to spend to divert more water to the south from our already drained water system. Or the out of control govt run pension funds, what type of obamcare will they come up for that one? Now we know where all the money for our roads and schools and police are being diverted to. I would bet that by the time this governor leaves office, there will be another need to raise the taxes much more than last time.

Um, back on the topic - the 129th had a helicopter shot down? Any details?

If sequestration is a GOP generated problem why did Obama propose it? And why did he sign it into law?
Enough with blaming one party. The entire congress is dysfunctional. We need to throw ALL OF THEM out.
Of course we won't. Most likely we'll re-elect 98% of them like we always do.

The cuts are tiny. Even after the cuts, the Obama's budget will be well above what it was during the Clinton and Bush years. Web Link
