This is good news but I caution everyone involved in setting budgets and spending money to remember that even a minor recession hurts the school district. Of course, the Great Recession we are still recovering from did much worse than "hurt" the district!

I don't get the math. How is a $5.5 million increase in tax revenue also a 5.5% increase on a budget of $58 million that is mostly from tax revenue?
