Blind date robbers strike a third time

Original post made on Jun 7, 2013

For the third time in just over a week, a man was robbed after being lured to the 600 block of Tyrella Avenue believing he was going to have sex on top of a bed covered in money.

The newspaper keeps making fun of these victims, but you know that sooner or later someone is going to get physically hurt.

How hard can it be to track down the perps? They must be using cell phones, web sites, and email to communicate with the victim. As we all know, that information is readily available to law enforcement agencies. Why isn't MVPD working harder to connect the dots?

"...saying it was her fantasy to make the beast with two backs on a bed full of Benjamins."

That's hilarious, Ben Franklin is on the $100 bill. That means there would only be fifteen notes scattered over the bed. Now if "she" really wanted to bang on cash, it would have to be about twenty grand, not fifteen hundred.

Too bad these dimwits don't read the MV Voice...

LOL

I wonder how people as dumb as these guys find their way back home everyday. Could there many more who didn't report the incident ? Married or just didn't want their IQ exposed.

I feel for the law enforcement as they have to protect people from their own stupidity.

What a shame.

@Bayzcon: No, the police don't have to protect us from our own stupidity. We are free to be as stupid as we like.

I am truly amazed these guys bother to report this. I'd be way too embarrassed.

Someone should just join that site posing as a 40 year-old guy, who is wealthy but lonely... which sounds like their demographic. You'll know it's them when the girl mentions money on a bed. Then, arrange the meeting and then inform the MVPD about the details.

Apparently, cops should be able to easily catch these criminals. One of them should be able to go as a client with enough officers backing him up. I am not sure why the PD is not using their resources. It is not like MV is a dangerous city like Oakland where the officers need to focus more on gangs,etc..
