Climate change doesn't exist. Gov Brown is a snake-oil salesman. Stop wasting our time and tax money and solve some real problems!

Go read all the stories on the MV Voice home page then tell me if climate change should be Brown's focus.

Yes, absolutely let's shift the focus onto climate change. And away from asking too many questions about the substandard materials used in the Bay bridge renevotion. And away from the billions of dollars taking high speed rail to Jerry's union cronies. Let's shift it anywhere away from our lunatic state government.
Mr. Brown, that hot feeling you're getting isn't global warming. It's your constituants staring at you in disbelief.

Focusing on UNION corruptions? Or the people that steal from the schools? Or what has happened to all the money for the roads? How about all the scientists focus on all the corruption within government? Then we would really get somewhere. How about focusing on the 11 million Illegals in the country and the million of them in California jails that will become US citizens if all the ignorant politicians let it be. These 11 million colonists are not here to pick crops, instead they are here to take your job.

Many posting here list things they think are more important. This just shows how difficult it is for most people to actually comprehend how serious and impactful climate change is. It is evident to me that 100 years from now, people will look back at our lack of response to climate change and be bewildered by our apathy. However, they will not look back and wonder about the poor steel in a bridge.

I often wonder what is in it for people who ignore the bad news about what we are doing the air we live in. Think of it like a garage in which you start up your car with the doors closed, what would happen?
Well it's the same thing with the world just a little bit bigger garage so it takes longer the see what happens, I don't want to wait let's turn the cars off so to speak.

I agree with Jerry Brown most of the things in the news are silly short term distractions. I don't agree with him about high speed rail we don't need this expensive fast train. What we should be doing is providing super Skype for everyone so we can feel like we are with the people we want to conduct business. Stay home and Super Skype save the trips for vacations, don't go into the office use Super Skype. This is the kind of thing we should be getting excited about. I also thing in general Jerry Brown is trying to do a good job and is not thinking about himself.

The problem with the issue is the lack of definition, lousy statistical analysis and poor economic reasoning. . Climates change all of the time. So what. What some want us to believe is that this is human initiated and bad with out offering any evidence other than looking at temperatures and trends. The use of forecasting models is silly when you are forced to put in confidence levels to reflect the degree of uncertainty for forecasting 30-100 years in the future. There is no statistical testing in the traditional sense.

If water levels are really going to rise as predicted, why doesn't this information get capitalized in to land values. Why does Google want to expand in the Shoreline area if this land will eventually be under water. I think it is better to address these problems in marginal, small increments if they arise.

Scientists (e.g. Population Bomb, Limits to Growth) have been calling for earth's demise for a long time and their predictions have been wrong. Maybe if they could credibly predict something short-term, they could build some credibility with the public.

Until then, the public should remain very skeptical like good scientists are in making bold claims about trends in data

Anthropogenic climate change is a Ponzi scheme based on "carbon credits" and an excellent diversion from the very real problem of pollution. It's the sop they threw to Al Gore for throwing the 2000 election.

Climate change occurs DAILY and it is NORMAL!! It is absolutely incredulous that so many people are so ignorant to believe that a minute species as humans ACTUALLY has a real & lasting/permanent affect on the ENTIRE climate & atmosphere of a PLANET that has existed exponentially (by billions of years) longer/previous to our very existence!! How many extreme climate changes occurred BEFORE humans made their FIRST genetic step into existence?!?! Sorry, I forgot, we should learn from the mistakes of the previous dominant species , the dinosaurs, who caused the very destruction of 99% of all life on Earth with their climate changing destructive ways! It is so obvious that this is purely politically driven by money when government/politicians focus on regular citizens that produce very little money for politicians and corporations get "carbon credits"!!

IMO, climate change is real and the population of the U.S. is incapable of facing negative realities on that scale. More generally, this population is not capable of self government. Global warming is real and is a serious problem that requires immediate and radical societal changes. But the other problem is even more serious, in part because solving it is required before we are even capable of BEGINNING to solve the global warming problem.

What to do: Rather than debate whether global warming is real, we should be debating whether this population is capable of self government.

The answer is "NO". I am a civic speaker. I have been silenced and imprisoned, and all of my speech equipment has been seized, by a corrupt local government (Mountain View Municipal Corporation, County of Santa Clara), in the full view of 50,000 of the most educated, skilled, and empowered people in the U.S.A. ZERO of these people have done anything effective to assist me, to defend me in this outrageous attack on the core institution of self government: my right to speak, and your right to hear what anyone would speak. My situation is analogous to a woman being raped during broad daylight right in the middle of a crowded sidewalk, with all of the passersby just stepping over or around us and pretending not to see.

What to do: Send me an email that says, simply, "What do you need me to do?" (My answer will be that I need you to personally "lift a finger". I don't need you to donate either time or money. I just need you to get involved. Many hands make light the work.
