Would it be possible to add a tiny Google (or other) map to these crime stories to locate the block in which these incidents are reported? Unless it's a street I already know, I look it up anyway to see how far away it is.

Good suggestion, Mapaholic!
For those who are curious, this is in the Monta Loma neighborhood, near the southwest corner the Rengstorff/Middlefield intersection.

Not sure if there just happen to be more bulglaries lately or just Nick Veronin is reporting on them (these stories seem to be his "beat"), but the trend seems to be Monday-Friday, around noon.
The burglars seem like they are watching for people who leave their houses and then quickly burglarize those houses. At this time of year, they can capitalize on people leaving windows slightly open because of the heat.

Front door, side door... which is it? Love the attention to detail in these Voice stories.

I just Google the approx address "2300 Jane Lane, Mountain View" for a map and street view. Works great. For a more interesting view, have a look at the CrimeReports.com map:

The map has controls to filter by date and types of incidents.

Doesn't anybody edit this stuff?
The headline says "Burglars".
The body says "A burglar"

Reading the comments are much more interesting than the actual "story" if you can even call it that.
