Whoever steals a compressor already must have known it was in there. They would need a big truck to haul that away.

I doubt this could have been a random burglary.

I am a day laborer who has worked out of the Mountain View Day Worker Center for several months. The high moral character of the wonderful people that I became familiar with during those months makes me ashamed of my country and its people. Those "illegal aliens" have much to teach us, beginning with how they raise up their children into good, strong adult men and women.

It was extremely refreshing for me to spend three months working with these people. Yes, they are here illegally. Yes, they are colonists who have invaded our country. But they are, as a group, perhaps the finest people we have. Converting them into true citizens and integrating them into our society would inject badly needed moral leadership and family values into the decadent urban moral cesspools that we call cities.

When I studied economics in graduate school in the late 1970s, I was told that the effect of race on crime rates disappears when the statistical analysis properly accounts for income. IOW, when the statistician allows both income level and race as "explanatory variables", it turns out that all of the action is with the income variable; the measured effect of race is statistically insignificant. AFAIK, this is still true. Poor people commit crime. People do not commit crime because they belong to a particular race.
