Islands of parks and trees in the urban environment are important to resident and migratory birds. The area surrounding the property is built with commercial and residential uses and this property is exceptional in the number of trees and the attention and care it received from the owner. Trees provide important shade and erosion control. I am pleased the Council can see the value of parkland and natural areas.
