As one of the first students to attend Foothill College in 1958 in the old Highway School in Mt View on El Camino Real it was an exceptional experience to meet the founding trustees and the core employees that they had assembled to start the institution. Dr Smithwick was indeed committed to education for all and he lived his dreams. We are very lucky and fortunate to have had him with us for all his productive years!! His contributions will never be forgotten.
