Bakery busted for bread recycling

After promising a $1,000-a-day fine on Esther's German Bakery for using a private company to recycle old bread, the city now says such recycling operations will be allowed in the city.

I hope they make the right call on this one. Reuse should absolutely be not only tolerated, but encouraged- with no fee to anyone!

If Recology didn't have the sole contract on the city's refuse and recycling, that might allow for a better market for things they dont want; like bread, styrofoam, and all the other recyclable plastics they refuse, that just end up in the dump anyway.
