Looks like today would have been his 51st birthday

I am so glad that they did this. I think about him every time I pass there, 5 times a week.

Still no traffic mitigation for Cal ave. I won't state the obvious concerning the lethargy of our city.

Still calling it an "accident"?

How's that Pumar money working out? What's the status of speeding cell-phone boy's trial?

Rest in peace. Sidewalks should be safety zones for pedestrians. Shame on Pumar for not taking responsibility for his actions.

Such a tragedy, and such a shame that it was required before a left turn signal was installed there.

Please note the improvements to Escuela at that corner. Dedicated turn lanes and signals to match have taken a lot of the danger out of that area. Idiots will still be idiots but I feel much safer since the improvements.

No traffic mitigation? You mean something like the huge new, improved traffic lights that were being installed BEFORE Mr Ware's death?
Yet another citizen blissfully unaware of the much higher incidence of car vs bike/pedestrian events that happen just a couple blocks over on El Camino between Shoreline and Rengstorff.
But I guess if it wasn't in the news, it didn't happen, right?

This memorial seems very fitting. It reminds us that life is precious and often too short.

It's good to see that Mr. Ware will be remembered in the neighborhood where he lived. It's also sad that there was another fatal collision that took the life of a pedestrian over at Phyllis and Hans this week.
I've also seen MVPD traffic officers covering specific areas of town each day this week, espcecially around the schools. The dept's FB page is a good source to find out where they are working and the page is public so you don't have to be on FB to view it.
