The Voice fails to mention the key facts here, so it's impossible to assess whether this approach is a good idea -
- what was the projected time and cost to get from SF to LA originally as told to voters?
- assuming they do this blended approach with electrified Caltrain, what is the new estimated time & cost to get from SF to LA?
My understanding is that the original projections - used to convince people to vote for this - was a very fast trip at a low cost, and that the current estimate is that it will be much slower and cost much more.
And if that is true - how much slower (total time SF-LA) will it be due to the blended approach? And how much additional cost due to the blended approach?
